A short video hello from Jim.
Is this a good fit?
Who this is for, and who it isn't.
Get in touch if...
- You run a local business with a shop, office or service area.
- You want more calls, bookings or visits from people nearby.
- You're happy to ask your customers for honest reviews.
- Your Google profile hasn't had much love since you set it up.
- You pay someone to manage it, but you can't tell what they do.
- You can answer the phone and take on more work.
Please don't get in touch if...
- You sell online only and customers never meet you. Google profiles are for businesses people can visit, or that visit them.
- You want a promise of the #1 spot. No one can promise that, me included.
- You want fake reviews, paid reviews, or to only ask happy customers. These break Google's rules and can get your profile in trouble.
- You want a fake address or extra keywords stuffed in your business name. Same problem.
- You're too busy to take new customers right now.
What you get
Everything your Google profile needs, done for you.
Fix
I clean up what's wrong: wrong hours, old phone numbers, duplicate listings, a bad map pin, and details that don't match around the web.
Fill in
I set up your profile properly: the right main category, your services, a clear description, hours, photos, and the small details customers look for.
Grow reviews
I give you a simple way to ask every customer for an honest review, and I reply to your reviews in a friendly, real way. No fake or paid reviews, ever.
Report
Each month you get a one-page report in plain words: calls, direction requests and website clicks from Google, your new reviews, and what I did.
When it makes sense, I can also help with
Natural next steps, only if they help. I'll tell you if you don't need them.
Local landing pages
A page on your website for each main service or area you cover, so Google and customers see the details.
Website fixes
Small fixes so your site matches your profile and makes it easy to call or book.
Google Ads for Maps
If you want to show up faster while the rest builds, paid ads can put you on the map now. They are clearly marked as ads.
How it works
Three steps. No surprises.
Step 1: Your 3 fixes
Tell me your business name. I look at your Google profile and a few nearby competitors. Within 2 business days you get one email with the three changes that matter most. You can do them yourself, or ask me to help.
Step 2: Fix and set up
If we work together, I add myself as a manager on your profile. You stay the owner. I fix what's wrong, fill in what's missing, and set up an easy way to ask customers for reviews.
Step 3: Look after it every month
I keep your profile fresh with photos, posts and review replies. Each month you get a plain report: calls, direction requests and website clicks from Google. Stop any month.
Step one is free. You decide after that.
Best of Edmonton
I track how Edmonton businesses show up on Google.
I also run Best of Edmonton (EdmontonLocal.biz). It ranks local businesses using only their Google rating and review count, with the same math for everyone.
No one can pay to be listed or to move up, and that includes my clients.
Running it shows me, every day, what customers in this city see when they compare businesses on Google.
Got a call or email from me?
I'm not Google. Here's how to check me.
Google warns owners about callers who claim to be from Google. Good. Be careful. Here's what you can count on from me.
- My name is Jim MacDonald. I'm in Edmonton.
- I'll never ask for your Google password.
- I'll never charge you to "verify" your profile. Google profiles are free.
- I'll never promise you the #1 spot.
- You stay the owner of your profile, always.
How much does it cost?
Setup starts at $1,000 one time. Monthly care starts at $500 a month. Prices are in Canadian dollars.
Your 3 fixes are free, with no strings.
Is there a contract?
No long contract. It's month to month. If you want to stop, tell me. I need 5 business days of notice.
Do I keep my profile if I stop?
Yes. You stay the owner the whole time. I'm added as a manager, which means I can make updates but can't remove you.
When you leave, I remove myself within 5 business days. You keep all your reviews, photos and posts.
Do you guarantee a
No. No one can, and Google says to walk away from anyone who promises it. Google shows people the best match nearby, so where the customer is standing matters too.
I promise the work, and a clear report each month so you can see it.
How fast will I see results?
Fixes go live within days. Google can take a few weeks to notice. Most changes are fair to judge after about 3 months.
Your monthly report shows calls, direction requests and website clicks, so you can see what's changing.
What do you need from me?
A short call to start, about 20 minutes. Then add me as a manager on your profile. I'll show you how. It takes two minutes.
After that, send me a few real photos now and then, and keep asking happy customers for reviews. I never need your Google password.
You contacted me first. How do I know you're real?
Good question to ask. My name, city and email are on this site. Your 3 fixes are free, and I don't need access to your profile to work them out.
Ask me anything before you decide. If you say no, I'll leave you alone.
I'm on Best of Edmonton. Will hiring you move me up?
No. I run that list too, and it uses only Google ratings and review counts, with the same math for every business. No one can pay to move up, including my clients.
My work is on your Google profile itself.
What's in my 3 fixes?
I look at your Google profile and 3 nearby competitors. I also ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google who they recommend in your area.
Within 2 business days you get one email with the three changes that matter most, biggest impact first: how your reviews compare with the competitors ranked above you, one gap in your Google profile, and what the AI tools say when asked for the best in your city. You can do them yourself, or ask me to help. I don't need your password or access to your profile, and there is no call unless you want one.
