This page explains what this website collects about you, why, where it is kept, who else handles it, and how to ask me to see it or delete it.

JM Digital is my business. I'm Jim MacDonald, and JM Digital is part of OurTeamWeb, in Edmonton, Alberta. When this page says ā€œIā€, it means me. It covers this website, jimmacdonald.biz.

The short version

  • I collect what you type into the AI OS Readiness Score or the contact form, plus a few technical details that come with every form you send.
  • I use it to send you your score, reply to your message, and keep spam out.
  • I don't sell your details.
  • It is stored in a database run by Cloudflare. The emails are sent by ToSend.
  • You can unsubscribe from my emails with one click, and ask me to see or delete your details through the contact form.

The AI OS Readiness Score

When you send your details at the end of the score, I store:

  • your first name and email address
  • what your business does, if you fill it in
  • your answers to the 12 questions
  • the scores worked out from your answers: the total, the score for each of the Four Cs, the band, and your biggest gap
  • the address of the page you sent it from, your IP address, and your browser's user agent (a line of text that names your browser and device), with the date and time

I also keep a record that you asked for emails: your email address and first name, where you signed up, the page, your IP address, your user agent, which version of the sign-up wording you saw, and when you signed up, confirmed or unsubscribed. That record is how I can show you agreed.

A copy of your details, your answers and your scores is emailed to me as soon as you send them, so I know a new score came in and can write to you.

While you answer, your browser keeps your progress in that tab, so a refresh does not lose it. That copy stays on your device. When you send, your answers are cleared from it. The email address you typed stays in that tab, so the page can show where the email went, until you close the tab.

The emails you get from the score

  • First, one email asking you to confirm your address. Nothing else is sent to you until you press the button in it. If you never press it, you get nothing more.
  • When you confirm, your score shows on the page that opens, and your full report comes by email.
  • Then 4 more short emails over about 9 days, with examples of how an AI OS can help a business like yours. Then the series ends.
  • If you take the score again after you have confirmed, the new report comes by email straight away, up to 5 in any 24 hours.
  • The report email has a link to see your score online. Anyone who has that link can see the score it shows, and the link does not expire. Keep it to yourself.

Every one of these emails, apart from the first confirm email, has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Many email apps also show their own Unsubscribe button, which works in one click. You can also reply and say so. When you unsubscribe, the emails stop. I keep your address marked as unsubscribed, so they do not start again unless you sign up and confirm again.

The contact form

When you send a message, I store:

  • your name, email address and message
  • the address of the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser's user agent, with the date and time

A copy is emailed to me, and you get a short email to say it arrived. I reply to the address you gave. Sending a message does not add you to any mailing list.

Keeping spam out

  • Both forms have a hidden field that people never see. Bots fill it in, and their posts are dropped.
  • The page notes when the form was opened, to catch posts sent faster than a person could type. This is checked, not stored.
  • Cloudflare limits how many times one IP address can send a form in a minute.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is sending. It runs in your browser and usually shows nothing. Now and then it asks you to tick a box. To check the result, the site sends Cloudflare the Turnstile answer and your IP address. On the score, Turnstile loads once you start the questions. On the contact page, it loads with the page.

Email records

For every email the site sends, I keep the address it went to, the subject, what kind of email it was, whether it went out, and when.

If an email bounces, or someone marks it as spam, ToSend tells the site, and I keep that report. An address that bounces for good, bounces 3 times, or marks an email as spam gets nothing more from this site.

Where it is stored, and who else handles it

  • Cloudflare runs this website and stores everything on this page in a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare also keeps short technical logs of the site's server code, which I use to fix problems. A log line can include an email address when an email fails to send.
  • ToSend sends the emails. To do that, it gets your email address, your first name when the email greets you by it, and the email itself. For the report, that includes your score.
  • Me. The copies of your score or message come to my business email inbox.

I don't sell your details, and I don't share them with anyone else.

Visit counts and cookies

This site can use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It only runs when I have switched it on. It does not use cookies. It counts things like which pages are read, the site you came from, and your browser, device type and country, as totals.

There are no other tracking scripts. The site itself sets no cookies.

How long I keep it

I have not set a date for deleting it automatically. Your details stay until I delete them, or you ask me to.

See, fix or delete your details

Use the contact form. Say what you would like, and give the email address you used. I reply to that address, so the answer only goes to whoever owns it.

  • To see your details, ask, and I send you a copy of what the site holds about you.
  • To fix something, tell me what is wrong, and I fix it.
  • To delete your details, ask, and I delete your scores, messages and sign-up record. I may keep just your email address on a do-not-send list, so the site never emails you by mistake. If I do, I tell you.

To stop the emails only, use the unsubscribe link in any of them. You don't need to ask me first.

Changes to this page

If I change what the site collects or how it uses it, I update this page and the date at the top.
