Move your WordPress site to free hosting. No more plugin updates.
A step-by-step video course for business owners who don't code. Your site gets faster, there's nothing left to patch, and your old links keep working. It's the same way I moved the Burlington Wine Club website.

The real example
I moved the Burlington Wine Club website off WordPress.
Before
- WordPress, with a page builder and an events plugin to keep updated.
- It was fairly slow.
- Nobody was available to update the parts that needed a bit more technical know-how, so the events list stopped in June 2021 and the footer still said © 2020.
- Two of its email links didn't work, including the one for joining the club.
- A hosting bill to pay.
After
- $0 hosting. It runs on Cloudflare's free hosting.
- 100 out of 100 for performance in Google's Lighthouse speed test on a phone, on every main page (tested before launch).
- No WordPress and no plugins, so there is nothing to update or patch.
- No PHP running on a server, so flaws like the PHP2Shell attacks of October 2026 have nothing to run on.
- Old WordPress page addresses send visitors to the right new pages, so old links still work.
- The newsletter sign-up still goes to the club's existing email list.
- I make changes by typing what I want in plain English. Each change publishes on its own.
What a site like the old one costs to run
A year, kept properly updated, at today's prices in Canadian dollars (converted from US prices).
- WordPress hosting, at renewal price
- CA$185 to CA$285
- Page-builder licence, theme included (needed for updates)
- CA$125
- Events calendar and speed plugins (free versions)
- $0
- Total a year
- about CA$310 to CA$410
After the move, the hosting is $0.
Optional saving: paying for Mailchimp too? Its paid plan starts at about CA$18 a month (about CA$220 a year) for 500 contacts. Substack is free unless you charge for subscriptions, and the course shows you how to move your list there.

What you'll learn
The same steps, for your website.
Most small websites are a handful of pages that rarely change. They don't need a server running plugins all day. Turn them into simple pages on Cloudflare, and there's nothing to patch and no hosting bill.
- 1
Import your content
Easily bring everything over from your existing WordPress site: every page, photo and post, and the addresses they live at.
- 2
Rebuild
The same website as simple, fast pages that free hosting can serve.
- 3
Move
Onto Cloudflare, with your own web address connected and secure.
- 4
Redirect
Your old page addresses sent to the new pages, so links and Google still find them.
- 5
Keep forms working
Forms like a newsletter sign-up keep sending where they do now.
- 6
Make changes
Ask for a change in plain English in the Claude desktop app, and it publishes on its own.
Is it for you?
Who it's for, and who it isn't.
A good fit if...
- You have a WordPress website for your business or club, and it is mostly pages people read: who you are, what you do, how to reach you.
- You're tired of plugin updates, a slow site, or paying for hosting every month.
- You like to do things yourself, and you don't mind following step-by-step videos.
- You want your website fast, and in your own hands.
Not a fit if...
- Your website runs things on its own server, like customer logins or an online shop with checkout. The course follows a site like the Wine Club's, which has none of that.
- You'd rather not touch it yourself.
Rather I did it for you? Website maintenance: I move your website and look after it for $99 CAD a month.

Who's teaching it
Jim MacDonald, Edmonton.
I run JM Digital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I moved the Burlington Wine Club website off WordPress and onto Cloudflare, and I look after it today. The course is the same steps, made for you.

Questions
Before you join.
When does the course open?
Within the next 1 to 2 months. Join the waitlist and I'll email you when it's ready.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The course shows you each step on video. Once your site is live, you make changes by asking Claude in plain English, in the Claude desktop app.
Do I need to pay for Claude?
For the first month, yes. Start with Claude Pro (about US$20). That's when you'll use it most, to move your website. After that, you can go back to Claude's free plan. If you only change your website now and then, switch to Pro for a month when you want to make changes.
Is the hosting really free?
The Burlington Wine Club website runs on Cloudflare's free hosting as plain files, with no server code, so there is no hosting bill. You still pay for your domain name each year, as you do now.
Will my old links and Google still find my pages?
They can. The Wine Club's old WordPress page addresses send visitors to the right new pages. The course shows you how to do the same.
Is it safer than WordPress?
It takes away a big risk. In October 2026, PHP, the language WordPress runs on, fixed two critical flaws known as PHP2Shell. They let an attacker run their own code on a server without logging in, and attacks started within days. Updating WordPress or its plugins doesn't fix them: your host has to update PHP. A website moved the way the course shows is plain files, with no PHP running, so flaws like these have nothing to run on. You still keep your Cloudflare and domain accounts safe with a strong password and two-step login.
What is the waitlist price?
$29 CAD instead of the regular $49. When the course opens, I'll email you a code for the waitlist price. Joining the waitlist costs nothing, and you only pay if you want the course. Canadian customers add GST.
What if it's not for me?
There's a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not happy within 30 days of buying, tell me and I'll refund you in full.
What if I'd rather you did it?
That's Website maintenance: I move your website to my fast hosting and look after it for $99 CAD a month, month to month. Canadian customers add GST.
